One of our favorite games! I like that this game involves strategy while also being simple and relatively quick. We like this game for playing after the kids go to bed. This one is nice because while you do have to think through your moves, it's easy enough to just try your best and still have fun. We could also see this as a great choice for our kids as they get older-great homeschool opportunity! Lots of rule options to make the game different. Overall a beautiful and great game!

Fun easy to play and remarkably deep strategy game. I'm a fan of the art and the complexity of the gameplay, games are easy to set and it can be play by all age groups, from pre teenagers to adults.

I bought this thinking it would feel like Harmonies, as it has a similar "build habitats, place animals" vibe, but it's refreshingly unique. The artwork is gorgeous, and the pieces are satisfying to handle. The various scoring cards add layers of strategy and replayability, and it's a joy for two-player sessions. Everything arrived intact, with high-quality tiles and tokens that feel premium.

I absolutely love this game. First, it's gorgeous. The quality and feel of the components is top tier and the artwork is beautiful. I also love that there is educational information included about the environment and species in the instructions. The pacing of the game can be slow in the beginning as you're learning the mechanics and best strategies, but will play quickly as you're used to it. It's challenging enough to keep you engaged but simple enough to not be too overwhelming. Great for adults and even kids as young as 9 or 10.

Cascadia is a very good board game. I play it with my sons (ages 14 and 6), and all of us enjoy it a lot. I like that there are no dice — everything depends on your choices and decisions, which makes you really think. For my 6-year-old, it was especially fun to see the immediate results: when you place an animal, you instantly see how many points you score. The game components are excellent: high quality, pleasant to the touch, and beautifully illustrated.

Lovely looking game with great art and lots of colour. Turns should be relatively quick and the game keeps moving. Simple to play but enough strategy for experienced tabletop gamers to play again and again. Pretty simple to learn with a Youtube video and casually checking the rule book. Lots of ways to score which increases playability and everyone can win with a different style. It's just really enjoyable to play. Building your own ecosystem is a pleasure.

About Cascadia
Cascadia emerged in 2021 as a creation of designer Randy Flynn, brought to life through a collaboration between Flatout Games and Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG). This partnership combined Flatout Games' reputation for refined, award-winning designs with AEG's long-standing experience in publishing accessible, high-quality tabletop games.
The game draws inspiration from the Pacific Northwest's diverse habitats and wildlife, translating them into something more than theme - an authentic sense of place. Players draft habitat tiles paired with wildlife tokens, constructing terrain corridors while positioning bears, salmon, hawks, elk, and foxes according to each species' unique behavioural patterns. The result is a spatial puzzle that feels both calm and intellectually engaging, relaxing yet deeply strategic.
Recognition followed swiftly. In 2022, Cascadia claimed the prestigious Spiel des Jahres, with the jury praising its "two-part puzzle" demanding players balance landscape building with wildlife placement. Further honours included the American Tabletop Award for Best Strategy Game, BoardGameGeek's Golden Geek Light Game of the Year, the International Gamers Award for Best Solo Game, and dozens of national awards worldwide.
Flatout Games has built its catalogue around this same philosophy - accessible games with satisfying depth - as seen in fellow acclaimed titles Calico and Verdant.
